We've used Mona for years but quality has been declining a lot. Yesterday's pizza was horrible. It was Saturday. Weekends seem the worst. 1-9-21 update Just waited 2 hours for pizza. Was supposed to be here an hour ago. Did it through Google maps and Slice integration. Should have switched places. We are switching pizza places.
Order was put in over 2 hours ago and still no sign of a delivery. Really disappointing.
my order took 2 1/2 hours to arrive. When it did it was ice cold and looked old, obviously it was sitting in the cold car foe at least two hours. I don't know how the food taste, it went straight into the garbage, I was afraid to eat it. What a waste of $40.
Excellent food!! Have never been disappointed... highly recommend!!
They will not tell you when they are closing!!!! We went on Christmas Eve and they said the kitchen was closed during our meal. We said that we were not told the closing time, so we asked for a manager. The manager told our family on Christmas Eve that we could cook for ourselves and lock the door on the way out, very disrespectful to a paying customer. Also our server and the manger were not wearing masks which speaks for itself.
Our first time dining in. Strange that the salad, bread and dinner all come out at the same time. By the time I finished my salad, food is getting cold. I have to specify salad first so they can enter the info into their computer database. No really, that's what I was told! Had garlic knots that were yummy. Bread was yummy. Ordered chicken francese which needed more lemon but not horrible. My wife ordered chicken parm without breading which came breaded. The marinara sauce that came with the knots far superior than sauce with the meal. Hint....ask for that with the meal if they will do it. Food came out in minutes, so I know all food prepared way in advance. Place looked inviting and was comfortable. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Background music strangely turning on and off, quiet and loud as if they couldn't decide. It's a BYOB, so if you have a bottle and are on a budget, not a bad place overall.
The food is great the best one around we come here all the time everyone one is very friendly the own is a real nice guy
Excellent food & appetizers always made to Perfection
The worst service .coldest food takes 2 trips. And very cold and unpleasant. Angelo says hell take care of u next time..yeah right!!! Try to make it up by a warm cannoli.. should have gone McDonalds!!! NEVER AGAIN ANGELO
I went in to purchase a gift card and there were multiple people behind the counter without masks on. The cashier was the least bit friendly and I was charged sales tax on the gift card... I would not recommend.
We have been going to Mona Lisa for several years. Under the former owners, it was a great place to eat. Tonight, our experience was very disappointing. First, our service was ok at best. Our waiter was cordial and friendly, but one of our meal orders was wrong, our appetizer order had to be cancelled because he forgot to put the order in, and he neglected to bring some of the things we had asked for. We spoke with the owner and received a few half-hearted apologies, but that was about it. Secondly, my husband ordered one of the specials. When we got the bill, the price listed was 40.00. Surprised that this meal was so high given the Mona Lisa is not a high end establishment, we asked the owner if this was the correct price. He said it was and proceeded to list other restaurants in which we would be paying much more. Interesting, his comparison was made with fine dining establishments which clearly, Mona Lisa is not. He then continued to defend his position by "educating" us as to why the cost was so high. He again offered more half-hearted apologies, but pretty much shrugged off our concerns and made no attempt whatsoever to regain our satisfaction. We got the impression he just really didn't care that we were not satisfied. And the worst part is that the quality did not match the price at all!! After taking the first bite, my husband mentioned that it didn't taste as if it was fresh. So lessons learned... 1) If you think you want one of the specials, ask what the cost is first because it's sure to be overpriced for the quality you will receive 2) If you are not satisfied with something, don't bother telling the owner. He's not going to do anything for you Bottom Line...Won't be returning. Customers lost
Very good pizza and atmosphere. The server was on point and even had the 'Jersey accent' which was right nice! The personal pizza size is rather large and not small like other regular personal pizzas. Everything tasted super fresh and portions were just right. Slices available, No beer or wine sold, but you can bring your own. Definitely a solid place to check out of you're in the area, I will.
Corona Virus Hotspot. No one wears a mask or observes social distancing. Packed tight Friday and Saturday nights. Owner rude, has no regard for surrounding neighbors playing excessively loud bad music, refusing to comply with town noise ordinances. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK ! ! !
The food was good, but the service was a little bit slow!
I live in Point Pleasant Beach NJ. On July 24th I mistakenly called Mona Lisa instead of my local go to pizza parlor Mon Alyssa (thanks SIRI) I order a large pie to be delivered. They accepted my order and charged my credit card. When I realized I ordered from the wrong place I called and asked to refund my card. I was told they couldn't do it and I should speak to Angelo...the owner. Angelo was nice, apologized, and agreed to mail me a check because he couldn't refund it back onto my card (which I still don't believe) I have now called over a dozen times since July 28th, and they continue lying to me saying Angelo's too busy (even though I call on the hours they tell me to call), or not there, or away, or just can't talk. I guess Angelo need the $20 more than me.... so he can keep it. Based on the food reviews I have seen, it looks like he won't be around too much longer. Buona fortuna amico mio
As a valued customer for many years, we kindly called and asked for the outdoor music to be turned down since our children were trying to sleep. Instead, the owner yelled and threatened us to call the police. Not only wont we be back, all our neighbors won’t as well. So rude and disgusting.
Amazing food...great atmosphere...def my new spot
Best pizza place ever. Everything is amazing, no where else can compete, I’m considering moving to Jackson just so I can eat there all the time.
I visited Mona Lisa’s at least three times a week before the pandemic and I will not be going back there. The new owner is so rude and has absolutely no clue on what it means to be professional and run a business. The food is now disgusting and not fresh and worst of all no one wears a mask not the owner, cashier or server. Don’t waste your time or money!!!Run!!!
This place used to be great and was a Friday night staple in my parents household, but since the new ownership it has sadly gone downhill fast. Ordered dinner and dealt with an extremely rude staff upon pickup. Yelling and screaming in the kitchen when they went to check on my order. Our cold salad was warm and the meat in our wraps was dry and tasted stale. There was not one redeemable part of our meal. Sad to say goodbye to Mona Lisa but there are plenty of other places around with great food and friendly staff. PS - I watched the guy making the pizza texting and using his phone in between sinking his undoubtedly germ infested hands back into the dough. Not something people are trying to see EVER, let alone during a national pandemic. Officially done with this place.
I didn’t know wearing a mask on your chin counts as wearing a mask. Employees have masks fully down not covering their noses as well as the cook.
Always good. Never got a bad meal....
It's been a while since I ordered from Mona Lisa, yesterday I decided to order from them, what a mistake. I ordered a Sicilian pizza, 2 chicken parmigiana subs, and stuffed artichoke. The delivery was over an hour and a half, when the website and the email confirmation said 45, to 65 min. delivery time. I got the food and I should of known when the pizza box didn't feel hot, I opened the pizza box and it was obvious it was not fresh, it was burt, hard as a rock and had no mozzarella cheese, not to mention the sauce was sour. My son took a bite of his sanwich first thing out of his mouth was, mom where did you get this food from, when I told him he told me to never order from them again. I was so disappointed that I wanted to take the food back not even ask for my $60.00 back, leave the food and walk out.
The pizza was delicious! I'm usually very particular when it comes to pizza but this was the best I've had in the area thus far. Also ordered a Caesar salad which was great as well.
Always amazing and they keep getting better, pizza fiends! ?
Disclaimer: I did not eat any of the food from this establishment due to a lapse in safety practices, so I can't speak towards food quality. I placed an order for pickup and walked in to receive my order. It was surprising to me to find that out of the 8 employees I came face to face with, only one was wearing a mask. I was asked my name and replied that I was there to pick up for Tiana, but didn't feel comfortable accepting the food since hardly anybody was wearing a mask. This has happened about twice since I've been in NJ, and the management of the other establishments were understanding, telling me I could just leave the food if I didn't feel comfortable. This establishment, however, was unnecessarily hostile with their response. I was met with laughs, scoffs, and a scathing remark from one of the managers as I walked out. "I hope you don't get COVID!" he yelled. It was incredibly rude, and you would think that those in the service industry would have a bit more understanding of the importance of food safety. In this time, if you don't do all that you can to protect your customers and ensure their safety - you're not worthy of your patrons. If management doesn't care enough to follow basic safety procedure in the midst of a pandemic, I can hardly imagine what practices they might neglect under normal circumstances.
Placed an order on the Slice app. After waiting almost 2 hours, I called to check on the status of my order. The sweet girl that answered the phone said she would check on it and then I heard some gruff male voice yelling at her that he didn't want her answering the phone and to tell me that it's very busy and whenever the driver got back he would bring it. I've been getting food from them for over 10 years but since the new people took over, it's been awful! I will never order from there again.
Excellent service, great food ask for Angelo
Would certainly recommend! Had funeral services at the Veteran Cemetery near by. Called around to multiple places that weren’t able or willing to accommodate our party (25/30people). My mother spoke with the owner Angelo who was very understanding. We had the whole outside section to ourselves. GREAT FOOD(large portions), GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT PRICES. Trevor was our server who was very helpful and kind as well.
Best old fashioned italian calzone I have had in a very long time. In case you don't know, calzones were made deep fried. Delicious
*this post was made during quarentine* The girl on the phone had no idea how to place an order. Got there, and the guy behind the counter is so rude, like yelling at his staff rude. And not even wearing a mask. Everyone else was, but they looked like a bunch of lost puppies. Oh and the order was wrong, not worth the cash, amd tasted like salt.. The line inside is a joke, 6ft or like "whatever" i guess. But hey, atleast you can pick up a box of cookies.
Support your local businesses people. They are barely hanging on! Great pizza..great food!! Order up people!! ❤❤
I was just in your restaurant this evening and noticed no workers are wearing masks. I asked the young lady at the register why and she said that you had an inspection and to talk with the owner. So I'm curious as to why nobody has to wear a mask because there are other people that won't come in because of it!
Very good pizza. Unfortunately the new manager (owner) and cashier don’t care enough about their customers to wear masks during this pandemic
No food after 2+ hours of waiting on a Monday night. There was one excuse after another. No delivery guy, wrote down the wrong phone number, wrong address. After hours of waiting-No dinner- unacceptable! Terrible customer service.
Need More training for Customers Service...Or I guess different people get different Service Never again ..
Just sat there for an hour while they stated my pizza was in the oven. The people all seemed very confused and continued to say it was in the oven. After the hour, they realized it was on top of the oven after fighting about it in front of me. After the pizza was put down I asked about my other items and was told well I’ll have to wait for those. They were sitting in the back as well. Everything was cold and the staff was inconsiderate.
Feels like you’re in Italy, authentic atmosphere and amazing service, the food was also delicious a great spot for a date of a family dinner
Just moved to the area, this is my new favorite place. I went there last week for the lunch special, chicken franchise with a side of spinach.. omg...sooooo good!! I ordered a sub today and it was Delicious!! Thank you!!
Good food at great prices.
Best Italian food in the area. Staff is great and always welcomes you with a smile
As this place got bigger and more popular, the food quality has suffered. Taste is just not the same. Got three types of pizza (buffalo chicken, pepperoni and veggie), and sadly, the veggie was the only decent one. They also added a significant fee for using credit cards too. The only positive is that their employees are nice.
Food good, service great.
Made mistake on original review. Old location now has new pizza place and I confused them. Mona Lisa has excellent pizza and while waiting for food to be picked up they were feeding us samples.
Amazing marinara and vodka sauce !
Stopped in for a quick bite... and Mona Lisa is now my go to pizzeria / Italian restaurant in Jackson. Great food, excellent service!
Food was really nice. Beautiful space and best server. Overall the experience was brilliant so i will stay there again.
Ordered from special menu shrimp and scallops over risotto $28 meal arrived with only 2 medium shrimp. Very skimpy. I complained to waiter he came back from kitchen and said that's the way it comes. Rip off
Absolutely delicious food! The stuffed artichoke is awesome! I also had Pasta Fagioli soup & a huge Rice Ball with sauce! You gotta go!
Great Calamari !!!!
